Inventory Specialist

The Inventory Specialist is a critical role responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s inventory records. This position involves conducting rigorous monthly physical inventory counts and meticulously reconciling these findings with ERP system data to identify and address discrepancies. The Specialist will perform in-depth analyses of inventory transactions and variances, providing detailed reports to management and recommending corrective actions to optimize inventory control. This role requires close coordination with accounting supervisors to monitor inventory levels, implement food safety policies within procurement and inventory management, and ensure compliance with all company food safety requirements. The Inventory Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding company assets and ensuring efficient inventory operations.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 6 months of relevant experience; inventory management experience is advantageous.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in data entry, analysis, and management.
  • Awareness of Food Safety Management Systems principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of the companies products.
