Sanitarian

The Sanitarian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the dryer area and production equipment, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role involves performing dry cleaning using compressed air and sweeping, washing and sanitizing production equipment, managing waste collection and segregation, and preparing and dispensing cleaning chemicals. The Sanitarian will maintain the cleanliness of the production area, conduct inventory of cleaning supplies, and accurately record sanitation data and chemical usage. They will also operate cleaning equipment, perform specialized cleaning duties, and adhere to food safety management systems (HACCP, ISO, FSSC), ensuring a safe and hygienic production environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sanitarian in a manufacturing or food processing industry.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Good communication and writing skills.
    • Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
    • Ability to prioritize urgent projects and work under pressure.
    • Self-initiative and proactive approach.
    • Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment (floor buffer, etc.).
    • Understanding of sanitation and disinfection procedures.
    • Ability to analyze data related to sanitation activities.
    • Understanding of trash disposal and recycling management.
    • Active listening and clear communication.
